Introduction to computer graphics

This course introduces the domain of 3D computer graphics, including geometric modeling and processing, image synthesis, with implementation in OpenGL and C/C++.

Prerequisites for Participation

  • Knowledge in 3D geometry and programming
  • Programming in C/C++

Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students will know the basics of the main domains of computer graphics, as well as how to implement several computer graphics tools.

Teaching and Learning Methods

Magistral course, exercices and pratical work on a computer

Assessment and Grading Procedures

  • Oral presentation of a paper on computer graphics: 40%
  • Project (code source, oral presentation and report): 60%

Workload calculation (contact hours, homework, exam preparation,..)

  • 6h weekly contact hours x 10 weeks = 60 h
  • 6h weekly hours preparation and afterwork x 10 weeks = 60 h
  • Programmation, report and oral presentation preparation: 30 h
